Twins!

Kaden and Tom were both wearing their Tom Brady jerseys today and they
paused long enough to let me get a picture!

Love letters

Today Hen wrote Nuggie a special note , just like the ones I do for her.

Somewhere over the rainbow

I volunteer in Mackinna's classroom on Wednesday mornings and today
had the pleasure of helping with this beautiful creation. Isn't it
amazing? Here Miss Purrington and Maddie help Mackinna show it off.

Bedtime stories

I just finished reading Kaden his second story of the night. As I
close the book after the last page, he says quite mater-of-factly,
"that was a really long boring book."

Glad you liked it Buddy, glad you liked it.

Things that make you go hmm...

It seems Kaden likes to wear girls underwear.  Not once, but twice in the past 4 days we've caught him in his sister's undies.  I don't know what to make of this...

Art Show

Last night was Kaden's art show at school. We saw lots a beautiful art and got to take advantage of the warm weather and play on the school playground!

Here he is with his spider that scared Miss Muffit away...

6 year check up

Mackinna finally had her 6 year check up this week.  She had one shot, which she was not happy about.  She did a great job on her eye exam and giggled her way thru her hearing one- never actually raising her hand to show that she heard the beeps.  She said it tickled...
Doctor Youth asked about school and if she knew her letters- you should have seen the death stare she gave him for that.  I had to step in an let him know she is reading.  When we talked about it later I asked her if he offended her by asking that.  With quite the attitude she replied, "I don't know why he would even ask a 6 year old that!"  She was not happy.

Here are her stats:
Height- 4'2" (98%)
Weight- 53 lbs (84%)

The park!

Kaden and I went to the park today and happened to meet two of his
friends from school. I thought I would never get him to leave.

Not tired

He said he want not tired and didn't need a nap but, alas the 3 mile
drive home was too much for him.

Kaden speak

Kaden James just asked me for some "Juice punch."  I like it, I think its clever.  Moving forward we may never speak of fruit punch again...we'll have to see if it sticks.

Catching up

Its been a while and much has happened that I have yet to chronicle, including Mackinna's 6th birthday! It actually fell at the tail end of Feb vacation so she celebrate at school with her friends the Friday before break, which also happened to be pajama day!  It was very exciting for all.  Her classmates made her a lovely book and video and she brought in a special snack- rainbow cupcakes- to share.

I forgot to take a picture of the cute cupcakes before I sent them in, but did later snap one of slightly less pretty "stay at home cupcakes."

Mackinna wrapped up her acro class and we got to go to the final one to observe.  She was great.  I can't believe the progress she made in the 6 week workshop.  She can't wait to take another one in the summer.

The the Sunday before her birthday Hen had a dance party at Drouin.  This was her first "friends" birthday party and boy was she excited.  The first hour would be a dance class with Miss Tiffany and the second hour we'd do cake and presents and a pinata in another classroom.  The birthday girl requested a cake "like a little wedding cake with ballet slippers on top."  So that is what she got!  We also made ballerina and #6 cookies.  We made tutus for all her friends and got them water bottles in case they got thirsty during dance class.

Everyone had a blast.  When we got home, Kaden declared, "That sure was a really fun party, Mackinna!"   They both danced and played hard and were so tired they fell asleep on the couch not long after returning home.

Then on Hen's actual birthday we went to Boston to see Toy Story 3 on Ice.  It was a great show and an awesome way to round out 2 full weeks of birthday festivities!
