Ready set go

The kids raced back to the car until not surprisingly, Mackinna fell
and cried. Kaden didn't see the point in continuing when it would be
such an easy victory.

Pearls at the playground

Summer?

It's in the 80s here today. It's nice to wear flip flops and feel the warmth of the sun but I guess I forgot how sweaty and cranky my little monsters get when they are hot. They played very hard at the park today and complained the whole way home about being hot and sweaty. Or in Kaden's case needing, "mrrr auter."  He also thought all the slides and swings were too hot and was sure to let me know.

The boy played hard today

Big boy on a scooter

And then they paused for a picture

Yardwork

Big Sister

Just now, while the kids were playing "work", I overheard Mackinna tell Kaden, "That is not appropriate."  She used it in proper context so I guess she knows what it means...  Now they seem to be fighting.  Kaden is yelling "mo" and Mackinna is speaking to him in her "teacher" voice.  Oh now she is yelling- the teacher voice is gone.  "That is NOT nice, don't hit me!"  It is kind of funny but I  guess I should go break it up.

Kaden Tales continued

I knew there a couple things I was forgetting in my Kaden tales post.

I love this one- whenever Kaden is posed with a question or a choice of some sort, he really ponders his decision.  Example:  "Kaden which ball do you want to take into the backyard?"  Kaden replies, "ummmmmmm" then really thinks about it for a moment, and eventually picks one.  Same thing for - "do you want juice or water?"  Every time, even when I know its an easy choice for him, like "do you want macaroni & cheese or spinach?"

The other funny thing he's been doing lately is walking around with his fingers crossed all the time.  I want to catch it and take a picture, its so weird.  He picks things up with his fingers crossed, continues play and everything.  I'm not sure what that is all about, but someone somewhere must be getting some really good luck from him.

Kaden tales

On Easter I kept trying to get Kaden to say Happy Easter, and it was so cute, 4 days later I'm stilling asking him to say it.  He says "Appy... eghhh"  He always says "eghhh" when he's not going to even try to say a word we've asked him to say.  Auntie says maybe he's just lazy and doesn't want to try difficult words, whatever is, man the "appy egh" is so cute.  It cracks me up every time.  I'll have to try to get it on video.

In other news- Mackinns was crying this morning (which is pretty regular for her) and Kaden looked at her and said, "baby"  It was totally innocent, but man, I'd think Mackinna would upset that her little brother was calling her a baby, however she was un-phased and continued crying.

Happy Easter

Breakfast

We had bagel sandwiches for breakfast and Mackinna decided to remove her veggie sausage and add manderine oranges to the egg and cheese. Yum. Needless to say she did not finish it. Though she hasn't admitted that is why. I guess it could be all the Easter candy.

Playhouse Disney Live!

We went to see Playhouse Disney Live! at the Civic Center on Thursday. The kids danced and did "pat, pat, pat" to help the Little Einsteins launch their rocket ship. I think they were the best dancers in the place and they were pretty darn cute. When Tigger & Pooh and Mickey & Minnie came out Kaden pointed like crazy, as if to see, "Oh man- do you see that? Look! Look!" It was pretty fun.

Dylan's Party

Dylan's 1st birthday party was last weekend. It was filled with festivities, including a Blues Clues pinata and Grandma's playhouse. Hard to believe Dyl is 1 already! Mackinna was there too I swear, but I apparently only included her in once picture and it was NOT flattering.

Listening

I just over heard Mackinna scolding Lucy, followed by, "you need to
learn to be a better listener." You don't think she hears that much -
do you?

Florida pictures- finally

No!

So Kaden James started saying "No" a couple of weeks ago.  (It sounds a bit more like "Mo")  At first it wasn't so bad, but lately he seems to have an opinion on everything.  When I am getting him dressed, he never agrees with my clothing choices.  He says no and then pulls something else out.  (Usually something with a ball on it, or occasionally dogs).  I think Mackinna was about 3 and a half before she started having an opinion about her wardrobe!  Kaden also likes to say no to things like, "Should we go sit on the potty?"  "Do you need a new diaper?"  "Can I wash your face?"  "Let's get dressed".  Its really not so cute anymore.
