Another sleeping kid...

We're here!

After the parade we packed up a picnic to head to Fort Williams. We
just pulled in and turned to find two sleeping kids.

Memorial day

They are patiently waiting for the parade....

Monster under the bed? Not quite...

Yesterday morning when I got up to get Kaden, I stepped on Jordie's tail, which isn't so unusual since he often sleeps with his head under my side of the bed, but when I looked, only his tail was sticking out. I thought it was strange that he was completely under the bed, but didn't really think much of it. I got Kaden and brought him in to cuddle with us. He fell back to sleep and I decided to sneak out for a run. When I went downstairs, Lucy followed me and barked and barked so I took her out, and again didn't think much of Jordie still sleeping, given the fact that the kids and Mark were still upstairs. Well when I returned from my run, Miss Mackinna told me the story of how she noticed Jordie trying to get out from under the bed when he heard me taking Lucy out. She figured out he was stuck and quickly ran to get Daddy. Daddy tried pulling Jordie out but his big head kept getting stuck. Jordie seemed embarrassed when Daddy had to lift the bed (with Kaden still asleep in it) to get him out. Last night Jordan did not go under the bed- guess he learned his lesson. He's lucky to have Mackinna watching out for him!

Who needs a bathroom?

Today Mackinna came running in the kitchen screaming, "Kaden peed in the garage!". I assumed in his pants, but I was wrong. Today Kaden pulled down his pants and peed on the garage stairs. I don't know what he was thinking, but I guess I'm glad he didn't wet his pants.

Kaden at the park

He played hard

Kaden started soccer too!

At Mackinna's first week of soccer Kaden seemed to feel so left out, so I inquired about the age cut off for the 3-4 year old program and they told me if we were comfortable with it- they were fine with him playing. They suggested we give it a trial run the following week. There was no looking back for Kaden, I walked him up to his coach and introduced him. Coach said, "would you like to pick a shirt, Kaden" Kaden replied, "I want a soccer ball!" And then he was off. He loves it and can't wait to go back!
Soccer is hard work- he fell asleep with his ball in his lap on the 1.5 mile drive home.
He loved soccer so much- he even had to hold his new ball in his lap on the way home.
Daddy tells him to try to stay on his feet. Apparently he has watched too many hockey games, he kept making himself fall to the ground after every play.
He rolled around on his ball during the "team meeting"
He "started" in his first game because he wasn't crying or afraid to leave my lap. Standards are not terribly high. Once on the field he just could resist the turf- he had to try a forward roll in the middle of the game.
He started with some drills- check out that kick!

Friends

Mackinna loves soccer even more this year than last because she "has so many friends." Her friend Patty is on her team and so far every game she has seen someone from her class on the opposing team. Its so funny to hear her talk about all her friends. On Monday morning it was the first thing she told Annie!
Here are Mackinna & Patty last week before their game.

I love this kid

Last night the kids and I went to the Seadogs game while Daddy had a late track meet. We had a great time. They were such big kids and good helpers and the Seadogs actually won. Kaden even got a ball! The kids made it thru the whole game and even the special fireworks show after the game. Kaden was cracking me up through out the entire game- he's so stinking cute and so funny. His absolute best line though, was when he's sitting in my lap, and takes my face in his hands and looks at me and says, "You cutest Mom ever!" I laughed so hard people around me must have been wondering. I think we've had that reversed conversation about a hundred thousand times...
