Rock Stars

Getting ready for Thanksgiving

The kids and I brought out pilgrim hat making stuff to Mom and Dad's so that Dylan could help us make some for Thanksgiving.  Dylan and Mackinna couldn't stop licking the chocolate, Kaden kept stealing marshmallows.  We had fun and have some beautiful hats to eat.  Mackinna is giving one to Julia and Mrs. Bosse.  Kaden has one for Mrs. Barre, Mrs. Wescott, Tom and Nicholas.  Dylan took one home for himself, and one from Mommy and one for Bampy, but Shawn thinks Dylan actually plans to eat them all.

A little song

Here is a video from my phone from over the weekend of Kaden James singing and strumming on his guitar in his jams.

Nutcracker

We are going to see the Nutcracker later this month, so I found some clips online to show Kaden. He loves the mice & soldier battle scene and has watched probably 8 different performances of it by different ballet companies. I left the room for a minute and came back to find my computer on the stool and him dancing/ fighting along with the video!

Mackinna's Christmas list

Mackinna has asked that Santa bring her an electric blanket. What does that tell you about our house? Please don't call DHS on us!

Dancing Cowboy

Kaden loved the DJ downtown Friday night.  The boy loves to dance.  Daddy and Dan join in a bit here too.

Snow in October!

We had a good Nor'Easter over the weekend which brought us about 4 inches of heavy wet snow before Halloween.  Other places got it much worse, but we did lose our electricity for half a day and had to scramble to dig out winter coats snowboots and snow pants.  Kaden didn't have any snow mittens that fit so he was stuck wearing purple old ones of Mackinna's.  It didn't phase him though.  He had a blast shoveling, making a snow angel and throwing snowballs.  As the day warmed up, Mark found him sitting on the steps crying, "because he didn't waaaaant the snow to meeeeelllllt."

My little hiker

Kaden and I went and hiked Bradbury Mountain last week.  We had such a nice time.  He climbed the whole way, never once asking to be carried.  He was so cute- talking about how beautiful the view was and saying, "Thanks for asking me to come here Mommy.  Kids can't do things like this without their parents."  The boy just oozes sweetness!

Dancing cowboy

Kaden got to wear his Halloween costume to dance this week- minus the cowboy boots of course.
When I asked him what he did in class, he told me he did some "rest dancing". After pondering this for a moment I had to ask, "Kaden, do you mean break dancing?" "ahhh! That's what it was- break dancing" he replies.

Lucky

Wednesday night when I was putting Kaden to bed, I told him I felt so lucky to have him and asked him If there was anything he felt lucky to have. He replies,"I feel lucky we didn't have to go to church at school today."

More Hay and Cardboard

This was a pretty big hit with the kids at the Common Ground Fair.

Common Ground Fair

We had such a nice time at the MOFGA Common Ground Fair last Sunday. The weather was beautiful, and the kids had a blast. The only thing that would have made it better was if Auntie was with us again this year.

Camping at Hermit Island 9/9-9/11

We had a beautiful weekend camping at Hermit Island, with Sarah, Ruddley and Tyler.  Auntie Nan, Auntie Patty, Jada and Marina where there too, and Grandma, Grandpa, Dylan, Auntie and Uncle Joe even came to visit.  Too bad Daddy was sick- a trip to urgent care on Sunday after check out determined it was strep throat!
