Kaden come too?

Everytime we've left the house since Kaden;s come home from the hospital, Mackinna has asked, "Kaden come too?" as we are preparing to leave. We tell her of course he's coming. He's too little to stay home alone. I guess she got the message. Last night we were getting ready to go to BJs (to buy more diaper's-- this baby is a pooping machine!) Mackinna says, "Kaden come too? He's to lil to stay home alone." We agreed and told her we would bring Kaden too.

Thank goodness we have her, or else poor Kaden would be left at home all the time, and Mark would never remember to wear a belt or shoes.

Kaden Not Stuck Anymore Daddy!

With much anticipation we finally welcomed Kaden James into our family today. He arrived at 5:56a.m. on 7/19/07 and weighed 10lbs 6 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. Mackinna loves him more in person than she did in theory. She can't get enough of him and wants to hold him every minute she is near him. On the way home from the hospital today she said to me "Kaden born today daddy, he no stuck in mommy anymore". She was excited he was able to come out. Mom is doing well and loving the new addition to our family. We are excited to get everyone home and settled. Check back soon to see Kaden's homecoming and updates from the coming days. Kids say the darndest things and I am sure Mackinna will have some memorable ones this week.

We found an E!

After searching high & low for letters to spell Kaden, that would match Mackinna's, I did find them, but no letter E. We looked everywhere. Mackinna kept saying, "No E!" Finally Grandma Campbell came to the rescue and got us an E from Maryland. So now we can spell Kaden. I painted the letters yesterday and hung them today. Mackinna is very excited.

Mackinna and Kaden's room

Here's a picture of Mackinna's room, after we've made room for her brother.

He's stuck in there!

This morning we were talking about how Kaden is going to come out soon and when he does all the things Mackinna will do with him, including changing his diaper and letting him sit on her lap at Red Sox games. This must have made her excited, because she says, "Kaden come out NOW!" with a big smile on her face. Then she pulls up my shirt to expose my belly and says, "Henna take Kaden out." After looking at my belly for a minute she declares, "Kaden's stuck in there Mommy."

Slugger- update

Yesterday Mackinna declared, "Henna DO like Slugger." We aren't sure what brought on this proclamation. We had not been discussing the Red Sox, Sea Dogs or Slugger, just suddenly out of the blue she made this announcement about her change of heart. She also reminded us that Kaden likes Slugger. We'll have to see how she reacts when Slugger comes near her next time we are at a game.

At the beach

It was a beautiful day on Saturday and Mackinna and I took advantage by going to the beach for what might be our last time before we have a newborn. How darn cute is she?

Snuggies help babies grow?

We were just sitting on the couch and Mackinna took her snuggie blanket and wrapped it around my belly then said, "Snuggie help Kaden grow!" Where does she come up with this stuff?

Hugs

When I left for work this morning, I asked Mackinna for a hug and a kiss. (She was very busy preparing to go see the ducks at the park, so I knew it was asking a lot.) She came over to me and said, "Hug Kaden, Mommy." She hugged my belly first, but did end up giving me a hug and a kiss after she said goodbye to her baby brother. I see where I rate.
