Big Girl Update

Mackinna is rapidly approaching her 6th birthday and every day we are made aware of how quickly she is growing.  Over the weekend, it suddenly occurred to her that she could sound out words so she didn't have to rely only on the dozen or so sight words she's learned in school.  She quickly began reading some little leap frog books we have.  She was pretty pleased with herself.  It was really fun to watch!  Then as if that wasn't enough for one Mom to have to deal with in a week, we discovered a slightly loose tooth last night. How can this be?  Big kids loose teeth...and read- I'm beginning to think we must have a big kid on our hands!
