Mackinna came home from the hospital and was introduced to her Jordie

 To celebrate 6 years of friendship, I made Jordie pose for a picture with his girl tonight.  He wishes we hadn't woken him... but he does love his girl.

One less tooth

While we were at shaws last night Mackinna's 1st tooth fell out! She
was so excited for the tooth fairy she was "basically up all
night." (though not when I went in to check on her!)

Valentines

The kids worked so hard on making the most beautiful handmade Valentines for their friends at school.  Mackinna even did all of her own writing.  We attached these to heart cookies we made for their classmates and they looked just lovely.  I think the kids were really proud of themselves.  They sure were excited to get to school to celebrate.

Father Daughter Dance

Mackinna and Daddy went to the second annual Drouin Dance Center Father Daughter dance again this year.  Since last year Daddy got her flowers, this year Mackinna thought she should return the favor plus a box of chocolates!  What a nice date!
Kaden and Mommy had a special date too.  We went to see Gnomeo and Juliet in 3D.  I tried getting a picture of Kaden in his cute little glasses with his giant thing of popcorn, but it was too dark.

Kaden just told me he wants to be a monster when he grows up.  Then not even a minute later he threw a handful of markers up in the air and when they all came down, he said with surprise, "Thats not juggling!"

Well we finally made it all the way to the park in our snowshoes.  There is so much snow that the kids can climb up into the tire swing by themselves!

Shopping wears me out too, but I try to stay awake... Kaden just
couldn't do it.

Long day

After dinner the kids sat on the couch to have a cookie before bed...

Muffin tin lunch

In an effort to get Kaden to be a better eater I'm trying muffin tin
meals. Here is our first... Nothing too crazy just stuff he'd
normally eat- yogurt, granola. Raisins, cheese and animal crackers.
I'll slipping other stuff in there down the road.

Big Girl Update

Mackinna is rapidly approaching her 6th birthday and every day we are made aware of how quickly she is growing.  Over the weekend, it suddenly occurred to her that she could sound out words so she didn't have to rely only on the dozen or so sight words she's learned in school.  She quickly began reading some little leap frog books we have.  She was pretty pleased with herself.  It was really fun to watch!  Then as if that wasn't enough for one Mom to have to deal with in a week, we discovered a slightly loose tooth last night. How can this be?  Big kids loose teeth...and read- I'm beginning to think we must have a big kid on our hands!

Lunch

Today Kaden asked for waffles and corn on the cob for lunch.  When I turned that down, he suggested eggs and corn on the cob.
