Breakfast
Yesterday I made Mackinna eggs for breakfast and asked her if she wanted a sausage to go with them. Dead serious, she replied, "No, my doctor told me I can't eat sausage." I played along. "Well, does he know you eat veggie sausage- so it's better for you?" I asked. She shrugged her shoulders. So then I asked her why she isn't supposed to eat sausage, assuming I'd hear something she had picked up about cholesterol, but instead I get, "because I have a baby in my belly." Hmmm I don't remember reading that one in What to expect when you're expecting.

Annie
When I was about Mackinna's age, my Auntie Patty took me to see some little amateur production of Annie. I only remember pieces of it, but I know I thought it was pretty great. So when we heard Annie Jr was going to be at the Chocolate Church, we made a date. Patty, Marina, Mackinna and I went Thursday night. Marina's friend actually played Annie and we tried to have Mackinna take a picture with her after the show, but Mackinna chickened out.

Mackinna's Trophy
Yesterday I overheard Mackinna tell Kaden she put her dance trophy on her nightstand under the light to help it grow. She spent the night with my parents on the boat, but I checked on the trophy this morning and it looks like its still the same size to me. I hope she's not disappointed!

Napping in grandma's bed
I took the kids to a children's performance at the Maine State Music
Theater today. It was their first theater experience and they were
both angels, but now they are very tired and napping together in
grandma and grandpa's bed.

Willard Beach Photo Shoot
I'm so please with how these came out. It was so hard to pick a few of my favorites to post. If you want to see them all click here. You may notice there are many more of Kaden than Mackinna. That is not because we love him more, or think he's better looking, but his sister cut her foot on a shell and cried for 45 minutes, so we had lots of time with just Kaden James and the camera. That is also why there aren't many of the two of them together either.

Last Soccer Game
Lining up to give the other team high fives at the end of the game- Mackinna just walks through the line without extending her hand- bad sportsmanship!
Mackinna wouldn't walk over to the pregame team meeting so Coach Troy had all the other kids get up and move to her.
While she rarely touched the ball and seemed to have little interest all together, Mackinna insists that she likes soccer and plans to play again in the fall. I'll be honest, I'm pretty glad its over. We'll see about the fall.

The Dance recital
Mackinna's recital couldn't have been better. She was lucky enough to have a huge crowd of fans. Grandma Campbell flew in, my parent were there, and Uncle Shawn, Aunt Jill and Dylan surprised her too, but her biggest fan of all was her baby brother, who kept yelling her name. Kaden was so good. He loved watching the girls dance, especially his big sister. Mackinna was absolutely magnificent. At the beginning of the year, I was pretty sure when the time came, she'd be too shy to go up on stage, but boy was I wrong! Dance has been so wonderful for her. It has given her such confidence. She just lit up the stage in both her buttercup dance and the finale. For the finale they had to strike these poses. She was a riot. She did it with such attitude and spunk. It was perfect. I could have watched all day. We were so proud and she was too. When ever anyone told her how great she did or how beatiful she looked, her reply was, "I know!" And wearing makeup...don't even get me started. She LOVED it and now wants to every day. I think we may have a diva on our hands. She got called up on stage at intermission to get a trophy for perfect attendance- and she even marched up there for that. She proudly displays this trophy in her room now. She thinks its pretty divine... and I think SHE is pretty divine!
