Funtown/Splashtown USA

I got a ton of passes to Funtown through work, so we decided to give it a try. I was worried that Mackinna was a little too young and would limited to just a couple of kiddie rides- that she'd be scared on many of the rides. That was not the case at all. There was nothing this girl wouldn't try. She was crazy!

It was observation week last week at Mackinna's dance class- here is what we observed.

A look back in time

Mackinna's first birthday party- she didn't really care for the cake.

At her one year check up she weighed 23 lbs 2 oz and was 30 inches tall. Her head circumference was 48cm. So Kaden's got her by 2 lbs 8 oz, and 2.5 inches, but only 1 cm around the head. That girl had a big noggin... still does really.

Another one

Kaden's finally cut another tooth today!  At his doctor's appointment last week, Dr. Youth asked, "Have you been brushing his teeth?" as he looked in Kaden's mouth he corrected himself, "I mean tooth?" Ha Dr. Youth- check him out now! We can use the word in its plural form!

Big Boy Update

Kaden had his 1 year check up today.  He got two shots, and had some blood drawn.  He was very brave!  

Here are his stats:

Height: 32.5" (this is actually off the growth chart)

Weight: 25 lbs 10 oz (90%)

Head Circ: 49 cm (95%)

So it seems he is more tall than he is fat!

My baby turned one today and I just wanted a nice picture of he and I together on his first birthday.  We tried and tried...

Stones

Last night Mackinna was helping me make dinner and I asked her to put the dough on the pizza stone. She looked at me and seemed confused. I explained that the round pan that we put the pizza on is called a pizza stone. She replied, "oh okay, like your kidney stones."

They both wanted the little chair, neither one was willing to budge, so this is them fighting over it. Kaden's face cracks me up.

Road Work Ahead

Apparently there will be some road work taking place somewhere near our house soon.  Late last week they came and stuck a sign in our yard on the corner.  Today Mackinna told Mark that she really liked the sign because it was orange and she hoped they would leave it there.  I have to admit thats pretty much the opposite of what I was thinking...

Mackinna's friend

The kids and I went to the beach today with Sarah while Mark went golfing.  It was really more like Kaden and I went to the beach together and Sarah and Mackinna went together, and we just happened to arrive at the same time.  Mackinna did not want much to do with me, in fact she actually told me to go away at one point.  At least Kaden still likes me.

Anyway, Mackinna and Sarah were busy running around and someone said, "Hi Mackinna. "  When they came back to the blanket Sarah told me this, so I asked Mackinna who it was.  Her reply, "Um... one of my friends, my older friends."  Turns out it was an intern from my office.

Dinner Maker

Last night at dinner, Mackinna was telling Mark how, "Mommy made all this dinner for the two of us" (her and Mark- b/c apparently Kaden & I don't need to eat).  She went on to say, "She is such a really good dinner maker."  Mark smiled and agreed.  I just had to laugh.
